Put Fredericksburg on your list of Travel Destinations (along with San Antonio). Met classmates from CFA Class of 1962 for a Texas Breakfast with genuine Texas Toast. So big, I ate half for lunch. Recommended: Willow City (3 houses) Loop to see wild flowers.
LBJ ranch is HUGE, managed by National Park Service, his Texas Whitehouse is closed for structural repairs, but drive through property tour (working ranch) is well-marked including the one-room school house where he learned to read and write. Amazing!
Travel Trivia: Quinceañera is the Spanish word for a girl who is 15 years old. Among Latinos in the United States, quinceañera also is the name given to the coming-of-age celebration on a girl’s 15th birthday. Learned this when asked why huge motor home was parked with generator running outside our hotel room—it was the band for the Quinceanera. Thought about crashing but decided to be polite.
